THIS WEB SITE IS DEDICATED TO FUN FILLED FLYING ADVENTURES AND AIRCRAFT OWNERSHIP. No direct sales are made from this web site, visit our products page for information where to buy. Fly About Publishing initially had two classic collectible books in the form of spiral-bound paperback books. They were: (1) Fly About Adventures and the Ercoupe written in 1991 and (2) This & That About the Ercoupe written in 1992. Both books enjoy a collectable status but the selling price is by bid and to expensive for most buyers so I decided to offer new editions through Amazon. Fly-About Adventures and the Ercoupe has now been converted to e-book in full color for those with appropriate readers and also offered as a full color Print On Demand paper back book for the benefit of the new generations of pilots. There were necessary changes and modifications from the original. In all of aviation history, this book is most unique because it puts you in the cockpit. The 2nd book, This and That about the Ercoupe is a rewrite but now in color where possible and much different from the original. Many photo's and verbiage has been added. To keep this book reasonable priced and available, it is offered as a paper back book in full color "Print on Demand" but not yet in e-reader format because of the expense. Check this web site often to see when it will be available in e-reader format. When a demand is evident, it will be published as a e-reader through Amazon Kindle. What each book is about. (they both are about your adventure/opportunity to fly, own, and maintain your own aircraft) Fly About Adventures and the Ercoupe is all about the fun and adventures of owning and flying your own antique/classic airplane. From the earliest pre-WW2 Ercoupe 415 C models to the latest Mooney A2A and M10 aircraft, these unique flying machines were the first sport planes comparable to the automobile sport car genre of the Ford 1955/56 Thunderbird, MG's, Triumphs, etc. Over 5,500 Ercoupe/Aircoupe were built. The only sport aircraft to exceed this number is the combined models of the home built designs of Vans RV,s of which over 7,000 have been or are being built. The Culver Cadet, Dart, Globe Swift, Mooneys, Grumans, and Van's RV's are great airplanes of high performance, yet they all lack that special open cockpit and exhilaration found only when flying in the original Ercoupe design. With a bit of imagination, this book puts you in the cockpit. Let's go flying. Discover what flying is about.
This & That About the Ercoupe (2011 edition) provides the owner useful tips and No-No's about general operation and owner maintenance. Just the "Analyzing Engine Problems" found on pages 32 and 33 are worth the purchase price. This new edition is in great color and has new and shared photo's of adventures from owners around the country. Want to participate in a book? Write me. |

illustrated information and current where to buy sources. For questions, comments and general information please e-mail me at Flyaboutpublish@cs.com. This e-mail address is at your disposal for all your questions. The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. I like conversations about planes, especially Ercoupes. I'm always interested in new ideas and enjoy seeing pictures of new solutions to problems. If you have any thing to share with other owners, please send to me, maybe I can work it into a book. I would like to have you and your Ercoupe pictured. The About Us page explains how we arrived at our present position. |

We also have a collection of pictures of general interest to Sport Pilot enthusiasts. This one shows Fred Weick, the designer of the Ercoupe and myself standing in front of "Old Yellow Nose" discussing the often installed fiberglass (after market) nose bowl and other mods we were seeing on Ercoupes at Leonard and Laura Page' s Arkansas Picnic.
